LOTS of air in brake lines?

Hey.. I'm trying to install my ss brake lines.. I'm bleeding them, but air bubbles keep coming out, on each pump.. I've gone thru some 10 refills of the resovoir, all on the rear left.. There doesn't seem to be any fluid leaking out anywhere. So, somewhere, somehow, air is getting in. The pedal is real weak, and i have zero stopping power. I can turn the wheel by hand with the brake pedal floored. Hmm..

Could this be a bad master cylinder? Also, I've noticed that when you release the pedal, air bubbles come up in the resovoir...

Another experiment.. Trying to bleed the rear right also lets infinite air come up.. So, whatever it is, it's not specific to the rear left....... It's a real pita to do the fronts, but those are next..prolly tommorow.. What can I determine if the fronts bubble?

Might be a stupid question, but are you closing the bleed screw before you let the pedal up? If you're getting bubbles back up into the resevoir it sounds like your not.

try gravity bleeding it until there is fluid coming out of all calipers, then close all of them, see how the pedal feels after that, and if its still a little spongy feeling bleed them normally one more time. If this doesnt work you may need to replace your master cylinder.

heres how i did it on my rx7 took awhile. cause they had tons of air on em. i think this is what i did.

make sure both bleed screws are tightend. have one person take off the screws while you sit in the car. and do one side at a time. have him take off one screw lets say at the right side. once off pump the brake pedal three times. and on the third time hold on the brake pedal with as much force as you can, like hard as hell. while the pedal is on the floor tighten the bleed screw on that side. once its tight you can let off the pedal. repeat this on the left side 3 full pumps and on the third hold dang hard, then tighten.

after youve done this to both, check the pedals feel. if the pedal is still pretty low to the ground when pushed. repeat the procedure. my pedal almost went to the floor before i did this procedure. i had to repeat this many times. it gets boring but eventually the pedal will be like it was when it was new. good luck and be patient, your foot will get tired.

remember one side at a time. i think you can try it with both but you have to tighten em both before you let off the pedal.

ill get shot for saying this but i will anyways.. hehe

take it to the dealership. for about $20 dollars (brake inspection) they will hook ur car up to a power bleeder that sucks all the air out. it also i believe holds the pressure in the lines. if they find something wrong when they do it they will let u know. DONT let them work on ur car..LOL... just ask them to power bleed the brakes. im sure others places know how to do this.. but i found that the dealership was cheapest for this...

all you need to do for gravity bleeding is, open your master cylinder reservoir and keep the top off. then just open all of your bleeder screws starting with the one furthest from your master, wait till you have brake fluid coming from all bleeders, and then close all of them. check your pedal after that and see if it helped at all.

Well, i have no idea what i did differently, but i fixed it.. Thanks, guys...

Anyway, I got one ss line on (the rear right).. On the rear left, i completely destroyed the head of that fitting that screws into the fitting on the rubber hose.. it's pretty much round now.. I tried to remove the OTHER end, figuring i would just replace the metal pipe (it's only like a foot long), but it's also in there REAL damn good, and i really don't want to strip that too.. I suppose i'll just keep loading it down with penetrating oil.. worst case scenario, i guess i could cut the line and use the circular part of the wrench on it........ bleh...
