LOT4NG rebuild and build up thread
Well my engine has gone pop again so thought I would do a rebuild and get as much advice as i can on the way.
Rebuild at this stage will be an extend port (street port for you yanks) depending on what is broken. What is the usual find in a blown motor? It still starts but then dies.. Probably because of the microtech it still starts?

And you should also find out why this engine blew "again" so you don't blow the next one.

Thanks for the pics. Now I know almost exactly what the rear of my FC will look like when I shave everything for paint. And mine is white too!! And wiperless!!
Oh, yeah, what Aaron said.

i can clearly hear one rotor when cranking not much of the other. But yes i will be doing a quick compression test before I take it out just to make sure..
As to why it blew up my guess would be boost spikes which i was in the process of rectifying with an external wastegate. Upon removal of the turbo turns out the factory wastegate was very very loose and most of the time was not sealing.

Better make sure your tune isn't what's causing you to blow motors.
Pull the wiring, unbolt the tranny and mounts, and lift 'er out.

Got motivated after i finished work yesterday and pulled the engine out in 2 hours which I didn't think was too bad for a first effort. Just lifted it with a bar.
Turns out its doesn't look pretty dropped a seal from rear rotor and it went for a little ride round the housing
