The stant ones are fine, you HAVE to drill a hole for air to get past it though. I learned this the hard way and will be doing so today. You just can't burp the system properly without doing so.

I am actually writing an article (and hope it goes to the archives) on the FC cooling system right now. It isn't finished yet but give it a few days and it will be up. I have had every cooling system issue you could probably concieve with my 7 since I bought it, with the exception of inner coolant seals.

I have a napa thermostat in now and im about to get a oem one. My question is does a stat have anything to do with air being in the system. My car is getting air bubbles blown into the reservoir bottle. Does the oem one make a difference on that? Ive tried the champagne test and it looked basically like the video above except it started really gushing out at one point so i shut it off. Without me revving it...

 

I have a Napa Thermostat in now, ordered a oem one from Mazda today. My question is, does the stat have anything to do with air not being able to get out of the system? My reservoir is getting air blown into it making bubbles. And the coolant level is up high after warm up. Wheres the level supposed to be when it warmed up? So two questions i guess. Ive tried bleeding it but still get the bubbling in reservoir... Coolant goes back to full mark once car is cooled after shut off.
