Lost all electrical power (no blown fuses)

I went out to start my car today, turned it on.. accidentally turned the key back off and went to turn it on again (a little too soon, more or less did it on impulse) and I heard a click in my engine bay. and everything turned black. no electricity. no blown fuses in my fusebox or engine bay fuse box.
any suggestions?

the symptoms i have are consistent to what the Haynes manual refers to as a burned fuseable link between the starter and selenoid... searching through the forums reveals that there is no such thing..
