loss of power i think

loss of power i think

it might just be my imagination but it seems like my car has lost some power. i just made a short ram intake and at first it seemed to have more power but no i am having a lot of trouble chirping in 2nd. engine rebuilt about 22k ago and car drives smoothly and idles great but it seems like i am running a little slower. would the intake i made do this. i just strapped the filter directly on the sensor on my s5. i am lost oh for tires i bridgestone potenza's which grip really well. i also have a full catback borla and a bonez superflow cat. the rest of the car is stock. any idea's

you screwed up the intake air stream, congradtulations.. lol.
its a common thing, thats why i kept the stock intake. underhood temps skyrocket, cuz your taking air thats already circulated thru the rad. you need either a cold air or the stock box or a gigantic hole in your hood.

exactly what he said^^^ your sucking in hot air thus your combustion is way worse than before.... do a true cold air intake... theres so many to choose from but the thing that seems to be the most popular as of right now is the one i made... i did a write up in the archive... look for my name and pics are in my sig

that was one of my thoughts thanks guys. i will be making a cai intake soon this was just temporary

id recomend doing the diy version definitly. just make sure your afm is mounted securely and LEVEL.i havent had time to brainstorm much, and i dont have a 3" radial, but id like someone to just mount a CAI behind the front bumper cover and cut a hole. that would provide nice ram effect.
