Question losing power at 6500rpm in first??

man my fc (s5) is losing power in first gear at about 6500 rpm, all i have done to my car is gutted the cat., added intake, and took out the secondary butterflies but i havent removed the shaft yet. could it be that the shaft is causing turbulance?? i dunno, please help!!

since you gutted your cat you may not have enought backpressure to open up your six ports. I have a '90 GTU and I had to open up my six ports after I gutted my cat and put on exhaust. But if that is the case you would lose power in every gear not just first.

Only the S4(86-88) FC's open the aux ports by back pressure. It could just be that you car is slowly dying.

How many miles, how's the cpmpression? More info on the car?

The remnant of the shaft you left behind, when you removed the Secondary Plates, has nothing to do with your car losing power.

Is it just in first gear? It may be your transmission or maybe even your clutch.

yeah i still have my air pump, but when i added intake i bought a smaller filter to put on the air pump hose. what is the VDI?? im not sure about the compression, i just bought the car during the summer and had to fix it b/c i bought it wrecked and i just completed it. it has 127,509 miles on it. its about time to rebuild her any ways. i am pretty sure it is only in first, it hasnt happend in any other gear. Bottlejockey....how did you open your six ports... well this is all for now, please help
