looseing oil near driverside headlight

Okay im dripping oil by my driver side head light. Im not an idiot I know a enough about cars my problem is I live somewhere I cant work on my car and I dont know what all oil lines are over there or what all it could be and seeing as its got to be a in and out job no looking around I just kinda need a heads up on what all it could be. I think its just a oil cooling line but like I said before I dont know rotary engines so I dont know if there is something weird over there I dont know about. Any and all comments appreciated oh yeah its a 1990 gtu. Thanks

The oil cooler is up there so you've got a leak at the cooler or the hoses are failing.

Yeah I figured the car came running synthetic so it doesn't take much of a crack in a oil hose to really poor out.

Like Clokker said. I'm betting its one of the oil cooler hoses.

Oh and I live in Eville, welcome to a very small local community of rotary owners :P

Visine oozing out of the headlight cleaning system...sorry,only possible if the car smokes weed or is a Canadian car!(headlight squirters were on Cdn models!)
..
just a thought it could also be PS fluid,as the cooler line runs around that area too.But you would notice that if the PS starts to act up or is low.

Ok then, it should be but a matter of minutes to find exactly what's leaking.

Starting now....

No meets to speak of, there aren't very many rotary owners here in town. There's a guy with an LS1 (i think an LS1) swapped FD, there was another V8 swapped FD..but I haven't heard much about him for years. A couple of rotaries have been owned by 2 people with a little local drift club and shop on Tekopple.

Well there was a red fc on Craigslist that I almost bought but it was in bad shape and been modded to drift and not in the good way rigged left and right. But I found my GTU in great shape in Louisville for a better price not completely screwed up just a few things were rigged but the body and interior is in amazing shape. Not the paint tho white tends to never last in the sun so I need to get it repainted and get the surface rust off asap.

Did you check to see if it was the lines themselves? or the Cooler.
a fair amount of times the Crush washers between the line and cooler or line and engine will start to go and produce a leak.
they are a 25 cent part!

i've got a 88 gxl parts car. i wouldnt mind getting the lines rebuilt on it and shipping it to you. the guys down here charged me $20 to redo both lines on a customers car, so that plus shipping should be way better than $80 a peice($160) thats just ridiculous!

thats fine just let me know, i dont know if its the fact that i have an account with these guys but that price you got seems extremely far fetched. felt like someone punched me in the gut when i read that. the lines are good up to 140 psi and are made to handle oil.

I spent 60 dollars on ebay on ten feet(way 2 much)SS braided line -AN10,fitiings,and crush washers 2 build new oil cooler lines.
I will never use a set off used oil cooler lines cause i have never seen a set that looks in decent shape coming of any rx7.This cars are old most of this parts are tired and have seen better days and a critical part like that should be replace with a OEM new piece,a near perfect used lines(that i have never seen)or with a superior newer part(ss braided lines)
Im not trying 2 sound like an *** but you can really be cheap if you want the car 2 last.Good luck with the car and welcome 2 the rx7 clan!

Its not that im being cheep im broke and I plan on upgradeing the whole oil cooler but I just bought the car and had to put an exhaust on the thing and already didnt have enough for that. Other wise I would be all for getting an upgraded oil cooler or new oem lines.

I've never tried finding a price on a dealer oil line, i just know its a part not supplied by a parts store. The place that is rebuilding the hoses is a hydraulic hose company I've used for quite a while called Alliance. My customer that did it first has been driving with them on one rx7 for three years and 9 months on her other rx7. They use your old AN fittings and replace the hose. In this case the process is cheap but your not getting a worse than oem product.

That was sent to me on the 23rd...

Just to state a fact I sent hypestar1983 money for the lines and still havent received items or any kind of feed back for a while now... so be weary of doing business with him.....
