Yo,

Fuel, keep that thing from blowing up.

Fuel Cut Defencer, S-AFC, injectors, fuel pump.

all show and no go is not a good thing. If you make it look better then people will want to race more but you wont be as fast because you spent your money on looks. make it fast then make it cool looking.

how many miles on the motor? might want to stash half of that away for the new motor fund

other than,i would upgrade suspension, antisway bars, strut tower bars, get a good radiator e-fan, if you want get some good tires

im not sure though, everyones opionion is different

i have an 88 TII also, so mods yet. plan on a MBC and FCD in the near future. probably get rid of smog stuff and put an e-fan on. if your 88 is mint, it already looks good. do the real easy mods first and save up for the turbo back exhaust and bigger injectors later. my .02.

SPEED! Its a FC, it already looks good enough. I would do exhaust and down pipe, and then quickly move on to fuel though.

race cars can go to a show, but a show car can never make it in a race.

Speed.

What wrong with the looks?? Unless you have a problem with the looks, I would definantly go for something like a turbo-back exhaust, AFC, and a fuel pump. Thats about $1000 right there.

FCD-$100
Walbro pump-$100
Custom TID/cone intake-$50 maybe
Thunderfabrications downpipe/midpipe combo-$200

From there you can do what you want and you still have over half of it left. I'd get an s-afc and boost controller if you can squeeze that out of that amount of money.

some chicks don't dig systems, some hate exhausts, others will ask you why you have a giant wing, and others will hit you if you go fast. then, some chicks throw themselves at guys that have APC stickers and parts. 5" tip exhausts and neon lights. useless wings and a boomin system. personally, i do love stereo systems, but i just wanted to rant that too many chicks go for guys with stupid **** on their cars. but ah well, i dont want a girl who gives two ***** about my car, really. if she does, cool, but those damn kids that go for that flashy style... :sigh:

speed! make it a sleeper. That is sweetest thing to do. Plus you wont have to worry about your car getting busted into a much as people with riced up wings and cannon exhausts.

The way I look at my FC is that it must be reliable before anything, then look presentable (if the car at least performs on a stock level), then maybe go for some mods that will make it handle better and be a bit faster. I couldn't care less what the chicks think of my car. If you change your car to get chicks, the chick you end up with will be having you change everything to her own preferences . . .

So what does your RX-7 mean to you? Is it for the fun of driving it, or to be a babe magnet, or maybe something that performs so you can spank the muscle cars? What is your main purpose for owning the car? No matter what, it has to be reliable before anything else can be of benefit.

Change all wear and tear parts whether they need it or not. Hoses, belts, plugs, wires, brakes, filters, etc.

ya, like everyone else i say SPEED!!!, lets face it, although the fc "can" look good(and in my opinion the s4's aren't all that nice compared to the s5's), it's pretty far from it at it's stock form, personally i love the fc though because there are little secretes(sp) everywhere to free up an extra 5 or 6 hpr, this is realy obvious if it;'s a tII, go get your self a fuel cut defencer, do the TB mod, and remove the emitons spider and pump, get a full 3" exhaust and intake, get a e-fan, remove the power stearing pump, ac pump, get your self a good boost guage and go buy a s5 turbo, decided if thats good enough hpr to stick with for a while and if so buy a good fuel pump to fit cuz you will be close to maxing out the stock one, and we all love it when a rotory runns lean. this is what setup my brother uses and it's pretty quick, he's blown away things like TT 300z's, turbo supras, etc, you'll find that after doing that 70% of the people you come accross you'll leave them in the dust...
