Looks like i'm selling my 7

Hey guys. Looks like it's time to part with my beast. I'm in pursue of something fast. This N/A **** doesnt cut it anymore. And a 3rd gen is too damn expensive. A TII still has fragile flimsy-*** electronics, and various other problems that all rx7s experience. It's a sweet car, i'll never forget it, nor have i driven anything cooler... but i think my next car is going to be..... *drum roll* piston *ducks due to all the flying objects*. I know some of you are thinking "why i oughta shove a rotor up your *** for thinking that way" ... but it's not that bad... 300zx. Twin turbo. 1990+. Cheaper than a 3rd gen, quite a bit more powerful, however much heavier. What do you think?

that's as close as you'll get to the fun of a rx7 with the reliability of a piston engine.

Get an MR2...a MKII turbo would be cheaper than a third gen.

too expensive. Besides. All the sound deadening in the world won't kill all those goddamn squeaks, rattles. The flimsy plastic peices are pissing me off. Bah!! 300zx!!! i cant find a decent mr2, however, i'd love one.

If I weren't going RX-7, I'd be going MR2. MKII straight up.

As much as I hate to say it, I may be following you soon. I love my TII, but I'm no mechanic, and with noone in the Ottawa area to rely on to fix the million and one little problems, it has become too much of a headache.

The problem with most of those classifieds, is that they are US based. Fingers and I both live in Canada. Much harder to find local sports cars.

Ahhh...gotcha. You could check out the Canadian section of their forum and maybe get some help there.

300zx TT's are cheap?? Ya. OK.
Honestly, the 300zxs aren't any cheap than the 3rd gens. Some are much more expensive too!
3rd gen's are around 19K to 27K
300zx (TT only quoted )are from around 17K to 30K! (TT)
MR2s are from around 15K to 23K (Turbos)

Go to www.autorader.ca
There are tons of 300's, 3rd gen's, and MR2's.

My choice out of the 3 would ge the 3rd gen RX-7. Simply because I love the way they look and handle. Mechanicals aren't my first choice though!!
The 300zx is the only one yuo can get in a 2+2, even while the seats are tiny, they are still functional. A big plus.. They are the most solid and most substantial car though... sweeet and wide....You can also get a TT convertible!
The MR2's are sweet looking too, and mid engine! They are also the cheapest of the bunch by far. Can't beat that.
You have a tough decision in front of you.

I sold my TII, and my GXL is too beat up to sell, although there are some kids who want to buy it from me.

Frankly, I get tired of the little problems, but the FC is so much ******* fun to drive even in N/A form.

I'm driving the GXL until it dies

My FD is my pride and joy, but it pisses me off so bad sometimes.
I don't think the 300ZX TT is any better, IMO.

Only TT 300zx you could get was a 2 seat, hard top or t-top. Both the 2+2 and the convertibles are n/a. Plus the thing is an overweight pig, much like a Supra. Built as a GT and not a sports car. I like the look of it though(the 300. The Supra looks like )

My take on the Z TT: It is heavy and overpriced. An ex-girl friend of mine's older bro had one. Man, that thing was ALWAYS in the shop. He NEVER dogged on it (much older brother, mid 30's) and he babied it. He replaced the turbo's twice, and blew 1 oil seal. I would go MR2, but that is just my opnion.

That too. It was a majorly sweet looking car, but not for your fast car. MR2's sre just so great. But whatever choice you make, may you have the best of luck!!!!!!

I personally like the Supra.... It's a bigger dawg than the FD, but also very expensive... I'd take the Supra over the FD, simply for mechanical reasons and peace of mind, but it's 10K more!!
35K-40K Can for a TT.

I though the Nissan TT could be had in a vert, but I guess I was wrong.
I have a buddy who has one as well, and it was araged for months because of an elusive electrical problem.
Damn fast though.

I have to say, those convertibles are F%^&ing beautifull!! I'd take one in a heartbeat, but I'd have to turbo it of course....

ii love my vert havent had no problems yet, only had it for six months or so, but my other car while not being a twin turbo, is a 1990 300zx 2+2. i bought it in 1997 it had 37,000 miles on it. today it has 68,000 miles and runs great. i have used it the last 4 years to tow my 2 jet skis. the only maintenance ive done on it has been the 50,000 mile tune up, and replaced a diode in the alternator. i know the twin turbo is an entirely different beast but i beleive this car will run forever. barely even turns 1/2 a crank and it explodes to life every time.

my input

Exclamation

How can you *not* want an FD? I love mine, and I outaccererate, outhandle, outbrake, and look a hell of a lot better than 99% of the Zs, MR2s, and Supras out there.

Just my opinion, of course

Goodfella, fds are too damn expensive, and hard to find in a great shape, that dont need a rebuild. Frankly, i think I speak for all of us when i say that i'm tired of replacing engines in the rx7s. I mean my rx7 is in great shape. everything on it has been repaired, other than the goddamn cpu soldering. it's a really fun car. I just need something with a bit more *****.

StarionX, i can give you the name and number of an excellent RX7 mechanic. You wont regret going to him. However, he's in smith's falls.
