Looking For A Good Project
Hi i'm new here and i'm looking for a decent condition turbo 2 second generation RX-7. I want to restore it and modify the engine a little. But mostly focus on the suspension and transmission. What year of the turbo 2 would you guys recomend and what should I look for when buying one. Also what is a reasonable price. Any tips will be greatly apreciated thanks.

I would just try to find any year, but i think the 89-91 S5 turbo's look the best, I have a 87 turbo with all the S5 exterior pieces, some would say S4 are more realiable, and there lighter, S5 are more powerfull but a little heavier, all in all I would just try to find a turbo period with as low miles as possible clean title and a good running engine, but if you do a search you can find out in detail all the differences between S4 1987-88 and S5 89-91 FC turbo's

Anyways, as far as mods go, there's not much that's necessary for the tranny aside from good oil and a short-shifter.
There is A LOT to look for when buying an Rx7, check the FAQ at the top of the page. A reasonable price for a great running, low milage, stock TII in the SEATTLE area is around $4-5k. If you're seriously looking, feel free to 'private message' me with any questions.
