Looking for a good black mesh for my front bumper mod.

I have been fixing up this front lip I pulled from the junkers (it's off a Protege and fits the FC nicely) and was going to prime it, mount it to the bumper and paint it to match my body (I have fiberglassed the joints and after surface prep it's shaping up nicely).

I also want to cut out the stupid braces in the front cowl (S4 front) so it's wide open then patch the resulting notches with fiberglass and painting it up. I think it should look ****.

The only thing I need to source is some nice black mesh to mount in the new larger hole. Someone had mentioned awhile back when I spoke of the idea in another thread that I should stick some in there to keep things like grocery bags from getting sucked in and blocking the radiator and also ty to keep large road objects from getting kicked up and causing damage. It would also help hide all the unsightly stuff sitting under there.

I looked at Home Depot today but didn't find anything that looked like it would look decent and the local Menards is closed (there is one 20 minutes away I can visit though). :

Any ideas? Thanks!

Here's what I did with mine:

We use a lot of this mesh at work, so I just cut some off a big roll, painted it black, drilled some holes and zip-tied it into place.

I just typed "wire mesh" into the local Yellow Pages website and got a whole bunch of hits. Try that.

I bought a big roll off ebay with the intent to do exactly what NZ did, haven't gotten around to it, though.

BTW NZ, is that just flat black? That's what I wanted mine to look like. Did you actually do primer, paint, clear, or just spray it with straight paint and call it good?

I imagine he jsut sprayed it.

Though if you have a LOT of time on your hands you could go ahead and bondo any imperfections, sand every nook and cranny then prime, paint, and clearcoat

Semi-gloss actually.

The latter... I gave it at least half a dozen coats, and it's lasted suprisingly well. It looks a little scruffy in the photo but that's actually just road dirt that washed right off.
