looking at an FC but i think there is a problem

ok i was looking for an fc still shopping around but i want a TII and i found one for 2000 he said the motor has 20 on the rebuild so i asked him who rebuilt it and he told me it was done by Hayes. and he tells me that every 800 miles i would have to put a quart of oil in it. now i know that the 13bs burn some oil. but is that bad? should i consider this FC? let me know what you guys think

are the stock oil injectors still in place or is the guy doing premix? if the injectors are in place then i understand why you'd need to add a court, but every 800 is alot. unless the injectors are bad. i was burning a shitload of oil with my n/a cuz my injectors didn't work properly and were jsut dumping oil in the housings.

I think its like 1 quart every 1000 to 1500 miles.

you say the rebuilt motor has "20 on it"???
20 miles, or 20k miles?

Nice looking car. It does seem to be going through oil a little quickly. With the mods that have been done to it I would say its worth the price. Check under that LeBra. They are often put on to hide damage or cracking paint on the nose.

Personally, Yes. I would buy it if it was close to me. Worse case scenario, the engine needs rebuilt again. That would be a fun project. Spend $1k rebuiding the engine and then you have a total of $3k in the car. Not too shabby for a TII... And thats the WORSE case scenario...

You say the guy wanted $2k for it
He has it listed for $2500 -
I think its deffinately worth the 2k. - 2500 wouldnt be a smokin deal. but you wouldnt be getting screwed on it.

I just bought a TII that has a dead motor. I have NEVER built a rotary motor before. I have built some piston motors though. I think it wont be that terribly difficult. As long as you pay attention while taking it apart and do things slowly you will be OK. Maybe you will get lucky and it will not have to be rebuilt. Could be something wrong with the oil injection. In that case, just get rid of the injection system and premix!

Stay away from anything hayes. Do not count on that engine lasting more then 30000 miles and dont expect it to be able to be rebuilt. Do a search for hayes rotary, From personal experiance and 3 of their motors all dead, the best at 40k and worst at 200 miles, their motors are trash.

see that is what i was looking at i have seen many people talking bad about that motor company, so two say go for it and one hell no i have to see because for another 500 i can get a black one that needs a paint job and a second gear sync. and for another 1000 i can get one but i can't find anything local they are all a min of 600 miles away
