Looking at buying a second gen

Ya Hi, I'm Matt, don't actually own an RX-7, Looking to buy one. I don't have enough cash for the 3rd gens because well. I'm 17. But I found a few Second gens for around 2000$. Was wondering If a 13b-turbo or a 13b-rew could be swapped into an 86-88 Non turbo RX-7.Thanks.

I second that. Either buy one that has already been done. Or buy a TII, but if you want experience with the car then do the swap because you will learn a **** ton.

I'm finishign up my last year of highschool, and I'm going into mechanics, I have a friend who completed his mechanics schooling, and basically my whole familly is mechanics, This is something I want to do. I plan on having the fastest car at school this year. And I'd much rather have done the swap myself than have bought it that way.

I'd only buy a vert if I was buying an NA car to convert to turbo. It really makes no sense money wise to convert an NA car to turbo unless the engine is blown already. If you don't want a convertable but want a turbo 2nd gen just buy a TII.

Ive found a few RX-7s around here the NAs are around 2000$(negociable). The turbo2s are practically non-existant around here, and the ones for sale people are asking around 8,000$. if I can buy an NA for 1,500$ and my uncle can get me another engine to put into it. Then I'd rather do that. Anyway i just wanted to know if it could be done. Thankyou, I got my answer.
