Look What I Got For $100

i have been seeing this car in a lot near my house for some time now decided to stop by and ask about it yesterday. Property owner said that one of his rent tenants had left it sittin there abandoned about 6 months ago after they moved out. He said it was becoming a nuisance to mow around and he was happy to let me take it away for $100.....no key or title but hey...whatever......

Apply for an "abandoned tittle" I think you can make that YOUR car LEGALLY if they just left it there for a long time.

My advice to you...

Check w/ your local DMV or police to ensure that the vehicle has not been reported stolen. From there, take steps to see about acquiring the vehicle "officially".

already checked with the dmv this morning, never reported stolen

I've thought about keeping it but i would have to pay the state what they appraise it at plus taxes.....so i think i will be parting it out soon. minus the drivetrain and other misc. stuff i wanna keep

there is alot from the car that i want to keep, like the entire drivetrain, brakes, and seats, a few other things. Thats one reason for me parting it out. this car has lots of nice things that are hard to come by that i want to hang on to. the rest is for sale

no it doesn't run.....i think the compression is low...it might if i messed with it. Also it was rear ended at some point, but not badly.

maybe a drift accident now that i look at it more....

**** just go and take off the vin plates off your n/a and put them on it. Dont part out a perfectly good car like that. Also you could talk to the land owner and see if the people left a forwarding address. If so just mail them and ask. If they try to take it back, just put a mechanics lean on it and dont let them touch it.
Not giving them you phone number would help. and a p.o. box would also. just so they dont try to come get it.

Don't part it out, sell it on ebay as is with no title... No reason to kill a perfectly good TII just because it's too much hassle to deal with Texas... Hell, I'll buy it and bring it up here.
