look what I did today

I pulled my whole intake manifold off to find a vacuum leak and to put a pair of nylon inserts I made into the engine block. I made the nylon pieces to smooth out the alrflow into the chamber without the 6 port sleeves, and test fitted them on my spare end housing. Heres the pics, though some didnt turn out too good.

That is the nylon piece I made

Thats the nylon piece being test-fitted into my spare end housing.

Now if it would just stop raining so I can go test out my car. Oh well, hopefully tomorrow Ill have up my opinions on how well the 6 port mod worked.

Ok, I drove it today. FIrst thing, I did fix the vacuum leak, but it didnt fix my idle. Second, every last bit of roughness and hesitation my engine had is gone. I have smooth power from 1500 rpm all the way to the rev limiter at 8800. I noticed a little more power from 8K to 8800, and a lot more below 6K, with the biggest gains being on the bottom end. My car is so smooth now. Its smoother than my moms extremely well-cared for 94 Saturn SL2, and rivals the smoothness of my friends 2000 Tacoma.

Definately worth the work, even if for nothing more then the extra smoothness of the engine.
