Ok, dont get me wrong but, all of the things you listed were true. I am not saying it would take anything short of 2500 dollars to make her almost new. I mean i was going to pay the only rotary mechanic here in Tallahassee{who is a old rotor head by the way} 3500 to rebuild. MAzda wanted 5800 to give me a reman!!!!

I only payed 1000 dollars for the car as it is today. And i actually had a guy who was going to ship me his used motor for 750. Then I came across this place in Houston called ASAP motors that was going to sell me a used motor w/ 50k miles for 900.

And all of the sudden I found a member who was selling this red convertible with all of the mentioned goodies. And he has just bought a 90 t2 and needs the room in his garage to do his project. plus he lives 2 hours away.

So i reconsidered my options, Pay anywhere from 2 to 3 thousand to get the blue vert up to par, or just go ahead and pay the 2 to get a car that needs very little.

Now keep in mind, I am a long time 7 fan and have owned many fb and fc's. But I do not have the time and patience I once did when dealing with the rebuilding and minor mechanical issues. I used to port and go ***** to the wall with old dellorto side drafts and the list goes on and on.

I still love to mod just not near as much. So that is why i chose this car. But if someone was to offer me 1000 for the blue vert I would not hesitate. Then again, if nobody wants to buy, theres always another deal to be had in getting this fixed so that I could have 2 mint verts.

All in all, the goal is just to be happy with what we have. And thats what I feel i have done. But I would not sell the blue vert for 500 when I know personally that its worth more. And so would the person who would be interested. Anyways, thank you all for the cool feedback. Its been a long time since I was last on this forum. It sure brings back good memories. Peace......

Wink

I think $1,000.00 would be a good deal for someone. I would buy it for that if I didn't have to ship it. Other wise you should just keep it, if you have the room to store it. It sounds special. I paid $1,200 for my 91vert. with a bad motor(new tires and top). Red with black leather. Of course verts in Michigan are few and far between. Reman has been installed waiting to break it in this coming summer.

Well its always good to get a positive response. Have you seen the amount of vert haters on this forum? Its unreal! I mean, I surely hope that we dont have to start a thread for vert owners only! Anyways, thanks again and keep me posted on the outcome of your ride.

$5300 with install i would assume. A local guy here got a similar quote for a remanufactured T2 motor from the dealer.. We are finishing up his J-spec swap next week.
