twin scroll actuator was never there,, tis most definately an s4 turbo that is fitted
also manifold seems to drop the turbo a little lower
it looks decidedly OEM , being cast iron with factory like convoluted surface and hole provision for heat shields
and also holds the turbo adjacent the rear rotor like OEM FC and not the front rotor like most aftermarket stuff suit RHD vehicles

engine is a late jap/aus s4 T "G" coded on all plates , though rear plate has the extra wedge around the dowel like the s5 blocks
engine is also running 2 s5 type housings with threaded knock sensor holes
also all s4 inlet manifolds and timing cover and water pump

it does show signs of being a little bit played with ( non oem exhaust gasket and nut )
but the exhaust manifold looks very mazda to me , and wonder what market/model it was from exactly

have already quized the HC luce guys ( who do get s5 block/ s4 manifold hybrid turbo engines ) but turned up a blank,, the 1990 modle luce has twin scroll

I was going to say Luce but you beat me to it. Maybe a 12A turbo manifold made to fit? Are the bot holes elongated? Could that even be done?

The turbo flange doesn't look quite right either. I can't put my finger on it...it just looks a bit off.
