Long Block Engine Teardown

In a few days I will be in the process of tearing down my blown S4 TII LB and a S5 TII LB. Bascially I will be using the S5 block, turbo, U/LIM's, Alternator, and myabe a few others not quite sure.

I have been looking at my S4 LB for the past hour or so, pondering and taking note so I can figure out the eaisest and quickest way to tear it down, so I can add the needed parts to the S5 block. Is anyone here a good chess player? I am trying to do it so I don't have to rip off each piece, more like in sections.

Anyone have any good write ups on tearing down a LB and what parts can be used from a S5 motor? I was looking at Kevin Landers site which was a little bit help full, but how do I know which sensors and crap like that?

If you are putting the S5 engine in the S4, I would use all the S4 sensors. It will just make things much easier.

just take the s4 injectors/front cover/turbo oil lines and swap the TB's around (s4 tb, not sure if they fit properly?) and you'd save yourself some time. Also you can swap in the s4 waterpump so you won't have to put up with that damned plastic upper rad neck. I'm sure I'm missing something, but I can't remember what...

Thanks for the bit of input, but I should have made it alittle more clear. I pretty much know what parts I will be using from the S5, just the best way to install/swap them.

If anyone knows anyone thats has done this kind of a swap please let me know, because I am sure I could do it by myself, I just want to get this done ASAP while the the block will still be under the 30 day warranty.

I've done it all, from a s4 -> s5 though, so it was backwards

If you're on AIM, PM me, I'm SonikRaT.

Edit: Actually I'm headed to get food, so I'll be around in about an hour or so if you need some help or want to discuss what to do better.

I hear that swapping a S5 short block will throw off the idle because of the lighter rotors, will it be bad if I were to put a lightweight flywheel on as well?

as i remember the only thing that matters with rotor is the flywheel counter weight
you should be striaght if you got the right flywheel
