Lol, what did this do again? The dashpot I think?
So I did an emissions removal trying to follow as close as possible rotary resurrection's walk through but somehow I got mixed up.(probably because I had a friend doing some of the work) Now The car kinda starts hard and I may be running a little rich but I'm guessing its from the hole left from this thing:
What did this do again? Is it called the dashpot? Should I cover the holes left by it? But should I put if back on and then cap them?
And a video too....

That way you can see how bad I messed up.
But anyhow what else could it be? Thank you!

thats a thermowax valve...it really has nothing to do with emissions, it just helps with cold start idles by holding the throttle open a little until your coolant/engine has warmed up a bit.
the hissing sound is probably a vacuum leak somewhere where you either missed a cap to vacuum nipple on the manifold or its coming from your block off plates. (you need to use a gasket or gasket sealant to properly seal them)...its also possible that you missed a step in the throttle body mod where you remove some butterfly valves...did you plug up the open holes where 2 throttle valve pins use to be?

I kept my secondary valves on my throttle body. So the holes can't suck in air from the thermowax valve? But to answer your question, I don't know what valve pins your talking about since I likely didn't touch them. Thanks btw for letting me know what that is.

if you didnt remove the valves in the throttle body then dont worry about the pins.
the thing that flows through the thermowax valve is coolant...it runs from the rotor housing through the valve and into the throttle body, then back out into the housing. double check you have all the vacuum nipples on the upper and lower manifolds either capped off or routed correctly to whatever they need to go to.

So there shouldnt be a hissing from here?
As for the ??? I dont know if thats still there or not, The throttle body was kinda the part he was messing with lol. Sorry I don't know more.
Also I know this is gone:
But I will double check that all plates were properly sealed.
(also both pics were from rotary resurrection)

OKay, no more hissing sound after I did the throttle body mod but now, when I turn it on the idle is WAY high at like 4000k, I made sure none of the cables were pulling on the valves but I just cant seem to get it down, I have been trying to turn down what I think is the fast idle cam but that just isn't working. Any ideas?
