Even though the exhaust doesn't go all the way to the back of the car, you don't smell the exhaust while driving suprisingly enough. I have tried convincing him to get a new exhaust though.

Why did you do that exactly? And is it a good idea to have the hot exhaust pipe pressed directly against the gas tank? If I wasn't broke I'd paypal you some cash just so I don't have to read about your fiery end.
Dude, thats awesome.
Now everyone should post the ghetto-type mods/fixer-upers that they have done to their 7s somewhere
Here is mine:
Duct-Tape + Cardbord = Temporary gauge pod!

Seriously man, If you are ever up in MD for whatever reason, I'll GIVE you a stock exhaust to replace that with

Heh. Not quite as bad as those, but I have some 6 1/2" speaker adapters I got from Crutchfield.com for some kickers I had. I ditched them for some better Rockford Fosgate speakers...but they don't fit on the adapter, they're too big. Dammit.
Bought a different adapter off of ebay. It doesn't fit either. Double dammit.
So, I have the speakers back there, attached to the bracket by ONE screw. It's a good thing the speaker covers cover them up...

I had the same kinda problem so I made a surround out of wood, its not that hard, some speekers (like kenwood) come with cutout stencils. If you dont have the time/inclination/tools to work with the wood, you can always just bolt it up with at least some cardboard for a time
It will sound better then your speeker moving around

I think this calls for a new thread. "POST YOUR GHETTO FAB DIY's!"
chains holding up the exhaust haha!
Love the cardboard guage pods too!
it looks very aggressive around the presilencer area or cat (can't tell but its the 2nd pic in the first post).
