Unhappy Locked Torque Converter

I have a 1987 w/auto that was allowed to sit for
over 3 years with no prep. I have managed to get
the engine running quite well from 1K RPM to 6K
RPM and have gone approx. 90 miles in all gears
(on jack stands). Torque converter is locked.
Solenoid is good and works fine.I believe internal
valve, ports, or piston is plugged or stuck. Plan
on pumping out old ATF (which looks good) while I
add new ATF to maintain proper level to clean and
unstick parts. Any suggestions from any of you guys out there? I'm trying everything before I
drop the tranny.

Hey "spectre", I was searching and saw this post from you, I can't PM you or email you but I would like to know how this converter came out, did it work by flushing or, did it need replaced. I have the same thing wrong with my car, so I wanted to know if you had fixed yours yet.
