Locked myself out!
hey everyone,
So i picked up a 88 rx7 and the locks can not be unlocked from the outside with the key. The car only came with one key so im thinking either the locks are fucked, or they take a different key which was not given to me. What do you guys think?

Sometimes the locking mechanism in the door gets jammed. This happend to me and i had to take the door panel off from the inside, and play around with the metal rods.
Does the door open from the inside? Probaly just the key cylinder is fucked. If it doesnt open from teh inside then , the locking mechanism iss probably jammed.

The key doesn't work on the hatch lock? If so you can just unlock that and get in through the back. I am sure you have tried it just wasn't sure and throwing the idea out there.

If all else fails, take a flat piece of metal with a squared end and with a very slight bend at the end and insert between the window sill and window. Aline this home made slim jim between the back of the handle and the lock and push down till you catch the rod going to the lock. If the car is equiped with the factory security system be prepared to disconnect the battery cable.
