Lock tumbler removal from door handles.

Hey guys I am trying to get my TII with a new lock set which is from my 88 GXL. I found out that the lock tumbler assembly is connected to one of the alarm sensors. I was going to take off the tiny bolts on the sensor but I can't get the tiny nut to unscrew. I was wodering I am 90% sure that the 88 also has the alarm sensor on it. Can I just cut and splice the wires in from the other tumbler to the wire ends on my car? Reason I ask is they are different series GXL is 88 and the TII is 89. Are the sensors on the tumblers the same?

They are just micro switches. There should not be any differences. Cut and splice away!

Can't you just swap the tumblers themselves? They are only held to the door handles by a by a c-clip.

the tiny nuts you are refering to are 4mm...I figured an rx-7 stud such as yourself should have a 4mm socket , j/k...and what eyeoutthere said, it's two wires and an on/off switch- how can you screw that up?
