lock cylinder Q, quick anwser, please
alright, so, as usuall, i searched, but did not find what i was looking for.
can the door lock cylinders be switched from side to side? my pass. lock works fine, but the handle does not. likewise, my driverside handle works fine, but not the lock, so i want to put both good components on the driver side until my new handle gets here. (hurry up, atkinsdan!)
as always, any help is appreciated!

Yes you can switch them. rather easily without problems once the door handle is off. Once you remove the lock mechanism check to see if the plastic cover for the tumbler hasn't broken off and fallen into it, if thats the case remove plastic debris check the key works reinstall and your good to go.

STOP POSTING WRONG INFORMATION.
The door lock cylinders are designed to work on a specific side.
Mazda even has individual part numbers for left versus right sides.
