A little help folks....
hey all. i am having issues starting my car now that ive got it back together. i have an 87 TII with an S5 motor in it. i am also running a FD Power FC with the Banzai racing adapter for engine management. i got the base tune from Banzai themselves with all the info i provided and they said i should be able to start up and drive (not boost or anything but nicely go to a shop to get tuned ) so today i went to start it up just to see her run! maybe move her around a bit as my mom wants her garage space back lol, but she wont start!! i go to turn it over and it cranks amazingly bit it wont turn over!!! pulled out the plugs and dried them off let the engine dry out as i figured i flooded it, tryied again playing with my fuel pump switch and nothing!!! so i "de-flood" again and this time want to check spark. so i leave the pump off and crank with L1 plug out and grounded, and NOTHING!! then i stop cranking and it lets out a spark! did that a couple times but now it gives me nothing at all!!! i have never tuned a car before with any EMS (and yes i do plan on getting well experianced help when tuning)and would like some guidance in how to at least get it started up! dont know if the problem lies in the PFC or not but if i could get anythings to look for on the PFC and what a good setting range for start up would be that would be great!!
i also have set timing with the cas itself already too so that should be all squared away...but idk....any input would be appreciated!!! thanks

well, found out my "base tune" is really nothing of the such!!! they just set the ign. full retard across the board and cut the injectors all the way down across the board as well....fricken sweet!! so, if anyone has a nice base map for me so i can get my car started and drive it around w/o boosting to get to the tuner that would be like super fantastic!!!! also anyother suggestions on y its not sparking incase thats not it....

Before you start flaming people/companies, you might want to try contacting them first. One email at 9pm last night, then this thread, you are not going to get any support from me if this is how you act.
The ignition and fuel maps are protected, the map doesn't actually look like that.

i apologize i didnt mean to come off as flaming, i am just fustrated!! i did get a quick responce from u guys though and thank u for that!!
now, i kept looking through things and couldnt find anything on my end (doenst mean its not there) so finaly i just hooked up a factory ECU i had laying around, and it turned over and fired up!! (and ten instantly died obviously due to lack of MAFS, FD IAT, 720/1600cc set up lol) so i am not sure what is going on.....i do plan on getting a datalogit one of these days before i go get her tuned (taking my time a little now with it being winter and all) but i would still like to get all the bugs out asap so that when the time comes all i have to do is get up and go!!
another question i had wat, do u guys test the PFC it self at all to see if it is functioning properly?? can u?? lol idk but the unit is used.....so who knows...but yeah, anymore info would be cool if u could please help...damn i wish i was closer, this would be a hell of a lot easier lol
and again, sorry, i wasnt trying to flame!!! i still support u and ur company fully!!

yeah motor sounded great when i got her to turn over with the stock ECU, and i went with the PFC as there is no shop anywhere near me that i would trust tuning my car so i went with a unit that i know someone with some background in so that i can get her tuned pretty close instead of having to trailor the car 5 hours to get somewhere to get a good tune for a lot of cash!! but idk, i was thinking of ditching this unit and goin with a haltek but i think ill just pick up a Datalogit and figure things out.....dono ppl make mistakes so maybe they just goofed some settings or something, well see...

listen, if you get the microtech, itll be real easy tuning it... it doesnt get much more straight forward than that. not only that, but I guarantee the basemap will start it up on the first try... since you have 720's, all you have to do is use the trim feature to lean out the mixture a bit and the idle will be rock solid.. the 1600's can be configured to come in at any rpm, so you will be able to drive the car like normal since they dont come in till later.. And trust me, the motor has plenty of power when its not on boost, so itll drive really nice off boost..

yea man its up to you. Im just letting you know my experience and some suggestions.. I tuned the car myself using the microtech and out of all the ems that I've used, its definately the easiest to setup and tune... plus the base map is rediculous, runs better than the stock computer w/o touch the map... but its up to you bro, good luck with that ever you choose.
