List of Problems I Need to Fix Before College (HELP!)

88 SE

1.) The BAC valve. Where is this and how to I check it to see if it's working correctly or not? How do I clean it, etc.

2.) The AFM (Air Flow Meter?). Also, where is this and how do I clean/see if it's working right, etc.

3.) I got the car in December and didn't change the plugs cause they are in there kinda tight. Im afraid to take them out with all that force risking stripping the rotar housings. Should I do it anyways?

4.) Also, if I take the belts off my Power Steiring and AC, would my car still run the same? (Without AC and P/S, duhh..)


I guess that's it. If I think of any more stuff I need to fix, I'll let you guys know.

Go to 1300cc.com for the BAC cleaning. Haynes manual for the test. I believe on the n/as it's on the driver's side of the engine, on/near the intake manifold. The AFM is right under the air intake box. Haynes to test it. If you take off the belts for AC & PS they won't work, so it will be different.

I know THEY won't work.....but will the car still run normal?

You will probably need a dual alternator pulley so that the belt will not slip. Other than that it should run normally.

I was thinking, I'm not sure the haynes has the AFM test. You may have to look at the shop manual. You can find it on www.fc3s.org, how-to, manuals.
