There actually is logic behind the cali emissions laws. They test for differences in startup emissions, which are a very large part of emmisions on many cars. On the highflow cats, they usually work like stock when hot but kinda suck until then. This was what the pre-cats were for, start-up emmissions.

They are also cocerned about anything that gets vented into the open air.

For example, a open air BOV or a gas leak will both release some emissions other than what is released by the tailpipe.

thats always a plus. i dont even wear cologne if i plan on driving mine because i just end up smelling like exhaust.

My wife sat in mine for the first time in over a year last week and the first thing she said was "it still smells the same" lol Gotta love the exhaust smell.
