A lil help (first fc)

well like the title says this is my first fc and i need a lil help. i just got it last month it's an 89 fc tII and i haven't been driving really hard on it because it has an aftermarket haltech on it because i haven't been able to get it tuned yet so i have been very gentle with it until i'm able to. but my problem is now it is blowing some blue smoke. it doesn't happen all the time and the engine was suppose to have been rebuilt not too long ago maybe 3k-5k miles ago i believe. i am not very versed in the way of mechanics yet but i have been researching best i can. i dont think its the engine. i am doing a compression check on it later tonight with a friend of mine and i have tried to 4k for 15sec to see if smoke comes out from the faq to see if the oil seals were bad and the compression check should check the apex seals right? i'm thinking the problem is with the turbo. well i somewhat did get on it a lil bit just to check that problem. i only did light boosting on the turbo. it's aftermarket and my friend would see some smoke come out under boost and also after the turbo did get warmed up i would get smoke at idle at times. what does it sound like to you guys? i've been reading trying to read about the turbo that is in the car. the tag i found said its a super t70 and from what i have found most of those are just cheap knock off's of garret turbos? preferably i would not like to have negligable/poorly made parts in my car so if i need to pull out this turbo for rebuild or whatnot i would rather replace it. so if anyone can give any good suggestions as to what i should put into the car. i can try to give you what specs i kno of from aftermarket and what is still stock. also one last thing do you think it might be smoking due to the haltech? its an f10 from what i was told and isn't that just for fuel? but also if it was from that wouldn't the exhaust be black? i'm unsure any help would be appreciated. sorry for long post ; ;

Well could be that too much oil pressure is getting to the turbo. PM "the wankler" he knows a lot about this and if this is the problem he will likely be able to tell from your descriptions.

a little help

If you pull your TID off do you see oil in it? If so, it may be in need of a restricor pill. Do a search for, "Oil in turbo". Should bring up something.

Go to atpturbo.com and call them.Tell them the size turbo you have and they will recomend a Restrictor Pill. That will lower the pressure right brfore the turbo. Here half way down you can see how I did it and the parts needed.https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...hlight=wankler I

Feel free to hit me back.
