Lightweight carpeting?

Hey guys, i'm looking to find out what kind of carpet you guys would use to save weight. I've heard a few ppl on here say they've got a custom carpet that's lighter than the stock one, anyone got any suggestions?

Seems interesting, I've never personally heard of lightweight carpet, but that doesn't mean much. I'd have to wonder if it would really be worthwhile, I mean, if you are going to such extremes as trying to find lighter carpet, wouldn't you be more inclined to ditch it altogether? How much weight could a "lighter" carpet possibly save?

if you take all the foam off the stock carpet is pretty lightweight, in all seriousness...dont ditch the carpet its not worth removing youd be better off taking out all that damn nasty and sticky sound insulation thats all over the car underneath the carpet.

The 86-87 Base, and Sport both had lightweight carpeting. In addition there is a seller on Ebay selling the same carpet for around $125 for the front section.

It saves you only about 15 lbs though...
