light switch wire harness problem

ok, the wire harness to my light switch keeps going on me. i have the process to get at it down to a science and can fix it (get it working again) in ~ 10 min.

anyways, i have a new switch on the way.

question is, will this fix the problem? there is a singed connection in my harness that i keep needing to clean in order to get the lights to work. it seems to work for a few days then goes out again.

anyways, do i need to find another harness? or will the new switch fix that?

If the harness is toast (melted plastic), might as well get a new one. If it can be salvaged, the new switch should fix you up...

The harness will need to be replaced as well, if it was melted/burnt/discolored, otherwise the problem will keep happening!

Once the metal has been heated that much in the wiring and connector, it will never have a good connection after that.
