You need the right kind of vacuum hose for the spider. I made my own out of smaller fuel line. The hose was much thicker and the spider needed to come out of the left side under the UIM than the right, but it worked.
If I could do it again, I would get stiffer thinner hosing. Truly the best way is to just buy the damn thing from mazdatrix becuase it fits perfectly.
