let me know what you think

Do you think that if I bought all the stuff I needed to convert me 90 GTU to a turbo that it would be worth it? I know you guys think I should sell the N/A and buy a turbo II. But its hard to find one around here for my price range. Plus from what I found on ebay I can buy all the used parts that I need including a turbo II ECU and transmission together for like $800.00. All the stuff needs is a little work. Do you think it worth it to hold me over while I save up for a real nice turbo II or a FD. Let me know what you guys think.

Work hard, save money, buy a TII. There's other stuff, like suspension, brakes, etc that your likely not taking into consideration. If you've never had a turbo car before, get the TII before the FD, it's a lil easier on the maintence and pocketbook.

By the time you spend moeny on an engine, tranny (if in good shape), that'd be a good 2K. Imagine since your car is in good condition, you could sell it, use the same 2K and get a TII that's running and work from there. It may seem cost effecient in the short term, but in the end, you'll have spent more money. You could take a different route, buy a good chassis that's got a blown motor for less than a thousand and do the same to it. That way, you don't lose your transportation, and if you buy a used engine that isn't good, your not completely screwed.

Soo, get a chassis and do a NA/Turbo conversion. Or just save and get a TII. Keeping your car in good working order the whole time, so you can get to and fro a job to make money. Just my 2¢ though .

yeah man, like Joe said...look for a T2 body with a blown motor, of if the right working T2 comes along, nab it

at least if you get a blown T2 you'll already have the trans, suspension, wiring harness, and possibly extra parts to use if something goes wrong with the "new" T2 motor. if you're REALLY up to the challenge, then go with the swapping of the turbo into the GTU...

and if you ever get enough money for an FD ----> BUY A SUPRA!!!

I snagged the only RX7 I could find within 5 hours of here, and I'm working on the conversion. Definatly is costy, around $2,000 or so for the engine/tranny/driveshaft/differential/ecu/harness so far. Lets see what other little things I forget!
