from the reference to insurance stuff I'm pretty sure he's seen that thread. from the reference to insurance stuff. I think he wants specific information on how to do it, but the original thread was pretty thorough already, and there's really not much to it.

take your lenses off, take the diffusers out, put the lights in, put the lenses back on, done. The lights are already set up for 12v, and the OP in the other thread already tells you where to get them(eBay), so I dunno how much more specific you can get.

Any auto parts store will carry LED replacement bulbs that are DOT approved and replace the standard incandescent bulbs used. This is the easiest way to convert your tail lights to LEDs.

Why would you want to halve your rear lighting? That's silly.

The cheap ones are awful. It can take some effort to locate quality LED replacements since the auto parts stores are flooded with made in China stuff...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YD97GuTqetI , this guy charges 250, + you supply the original tails for the conversion. A little steep, but well done.

spider lights make these LED conversions that fit into a regular incandecent hole. I've seen them on anything from Ducati's to Yukons. I've been looking for an FC application, but not really hard.

Those direct replacements give pitiful performance compared to an incandescent bulb. Any lighting changes should be an improvement over stock, not a downgrade, for obvious reasons.
