LED swap on Center Dash - (MX3)
Decided to start a new thread since I was getting off von's orignal topic of his sisters MX3.
If you guys come across a MX3 or actually other Mazda cars, look and see what you can swap. I found an MX3, and swapped the logicon (AC controller slide lever LED lights, the cigarette lighter lighter plastic surround, and the ash-tray, to get rid of the ugly orange to the better looking green. I was looking to do something like this because the orange did not match my stereo. You may notice in the picture that I also took apart my logicon and put in some green LED's (on the top row of the logicon). You can replace the slider LED's by pulling off the slider holders (covers), and repalce the LED's using some needle nose pliers.
I am working on some other stuff, but that will have to wait...
BTW-- you can't see the ash tray in the picture, I'll try and post it later.

Using the original RX7 logicon, all I did was change the "slider's" LED to green. I used "superbright" LED's on the sliders, but found that they are not really necessary... regular LED's are fine. Now the top row of LED's (ie-- the ones that light-up when switching the blower, tirning on the AC. etc.) I have to disassemble the logicon, and remove and put in (solder) new LED's (green in this case).

Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
Thats an intresting idea. I have a spare Logicon face, maybe I will play around with it when I get back home next week.
How well can you see the green LEDs during the day?
