leaky injectors maybe? your thoughts
I just finished putting in my jdm s4 tII in. I filled everything on up and gave her a start of friday- with a few tries, she started right up and idled perfectly. The next day, I thought I'd start it up before I pulled it out to bleed the breaks AND... Now its not wanting to start. I cant really tell, but i think it may be just majorly flooded- i think its flooding because i didnt have the injectors cleaned when i put it back together. I try the unflooding technique, but its not really cutting it.
I didnt even mess with anything since it ran the day before, so I thats the only thing i can think of that would make it not start after it sat overnight. What do you think? Any other ideas?

Well honestly same thing happened to me when I did my Jspec swap into my T2.
When I unflood mine I always have to change my spark plugs for new onces. Luckily the NGK's from Advance have a 2 year replacement so I am never out money on them.
So might make sure the plugs are even still firing.

i first started it with the old plugs and ran it for a while because it had some ATF in it. After i got most of that burnt out of there, i threw in my brand new plugs. I had it running perfectly for a total of about a half an hour and it started easily several times in a row. This is why i think theyre leaking- it only wouldnt start after it sat.

Does anybody else have any ideas? I just went and took it all apart and took out the injectors so i can drop them off to have them cleaned and balanced tomorrow.
Off the topic, I was looking at my oil metering lines and two of them appeared to be empty, while the other two were full... but after i looked closer, i saw that they werent empty, rather they just had cleaner oil than in the other two lines. Is it possible that the two lines that are fed from the lower part of the oil metering pump get dirtier oil than the ones that are fed from higher?
One more question: what do the vacuum hoses that go to the oil injectors actually do? do they just regulate oil flow? What happens if theyre not hooked up or pinched?

give it some time man.... we'll toss a fuel cut switch in there and that might help.... when i couldn't get my car to start i tried to unflood it all day long, and nothing... tosed in a fuel cut switch and bam started right up! hey and you should make me a block off plate when your at school... that would be sweet... if you do just use regualr aluminum... no diamond plate for me... cause i really want to ditch some of that extra **** on my motor!!

I have no help for you...but if you want responses on this forum, you need to tell everyone you are a girl, and throw in a pic of a hot (but believable) girl and claim that it is you..

Lots of things can happen after an engine swap:
Recheck all connectors.
Recheck all grounds.
Fuel pressure?
Spark?
Cranking fast enough?
Enough oil on the new seals to build compression?

i havent done a compression test yet but i think it'll be okay. I'm probably gonna do the water trick after i get it running well too. i dropped off the injectors monday to have them cleaned, i pick them up today. I'll get back with how it worked.

Compression's really good, loud even puffs. I didnt use a compression checker, but i know what a bad engine sounds like and this is good.
My latest idea is maybe the air flow meter. I'm pretty sure its getting fuel now, as it will start and die occasionally. I may try switching out the TPS as well, just to see. I'm freakin' out here because this car is my senior project and my presentation is on tuesday, the 23. It'd be nice if i didnt have to tow the car to school.
If anybody has any other ideas, I'd really appreciate your responses.(sorry about raging earlier out of response envy.)
As for worrying about the JDM, yeah i'm worried too about it not lasting, thats why i'm planning on rebuilding my original this summer. Right now i'm just wishing my car would give me a little love cuz i've given it plenty lol!

Its probly running really rich. Have you played with the air fuel mixture thingy(i dont know what they call it) by the pressure sensor. I had the same problem, I changed the plugs kept on adjusting it til the hesitation went away. Runs perfects now.
