leaky fuel injector?

Another question about the '87 that I am considering purchasing- The owner started it for a very brief period of time (not wanting the engine to catch fire again from the fuel leak) and after he shut it off, there was a small amount of vapor or smoke coming out the exhaust. Is this normal, or am I correct in suspecting a leaky injector? I am hoping that I am wrong, and it could be related to the fact that the car has nor been run in a little over a month.

some steam coming out of the exhaust is perfectly normal. One of the by products of combustion and of cat operation is water vapor.

But if it smells sweet then that is another matter.
