Leaky 88 Vert

My convertible is leaking, but I am not sure where the water is coming from. I have covered the car, but moisture continues to build up under the backside of the floor behind the passenger seat. Like most verts, my top has split in the normal places. To counter that, I covered the the top with a plastic tarp but water is still getting in. Has anyone had a similar problem? Any suggested fixes?

Behind the seat is most likely (sp?) the rear part of the targa top. It is also possible that the water is coming through the "pockets" which drain the top. If these are pluged they can back up.

I agree with AUGieDogie(Nice name btw, AUGS ftw.) My top is in pretty good condition but when I got it it leaked behind the drivers seat pretty bad every time it rained. Turned out the drain tube on that side was plugged. just run some weed wacker wire down through it gently and it should unclog it. You can put the water hose down there and run it and look under the car to see if its draining properly.

You are referring to the pockets next to the rip that everyone seems to get? I will give it a try tomorrow and see what happens.

I assume that the drain is right below that section of the car?

Thanks

If you remove the spare tire cover you can see the drain tubes. They are clear soft plastic, about 1/2 inch around. Look in the area that would align about two inches behind the door edge.

I had water building up there when I got my car, I washed it and found mud and leaves in there. I washed all that crap out and it works good as new.
