leaking lots of coolant

Hi,
my car is leaking lots of coolant right behind all the belts. Its like below the alternator. What do you guys think its leaking from? I've never seen an RX-7 leak there. My var is an 87 TII.
Thanks!

Well, it's possible either :
A. your water pump housing gasket has failed causing water to seep out from between your water pump housing and your front side housing OR

B. The nipple behind the waterpump housing, cast on the back side below the thermostat housing.... This nipple has a water/coolant hose that runs towards/around your throttle body during engine operation. This hose may have sprung a leak.

-Good luck,

EDIT:

Yeah, it could be leaking from the weep hole in the water pump as well.

Coming from under the altenator?? sounds strange

well it seems that its leaking from right under the fan pulley.
Is the fan pulley and the water pump pulley the same?

yes, Fan is bolted to the waterpump. Water pump is more than likely the source of the leak, be it the gasket, or weep hole. New pump is like $60.

Just in case, check the hose connection from the water pump body supplying coolant to turbo.

Won't furt to check.

I agree with checking the connection to the turbo, that's where my leak is.

If it is due to failing waterpump gasket, I recommend replacing the whole waterpump- look at it as increasing reliability significantly. It's better than risking overheat, and most likely entire engine rebuild.
good luck.
