Cool Leaking Injectors + Grounding?

So, I just bought a Turbo II for relatively cheap. It had a compression test done and everything looked good. Only problem it had were old leaking injectors. Which I plan on fixing very very soon. I decieded to ground a couple things since I had spare wire from when I did a grounding job on my GXL. I grounded the firewall to the intake, the alternator to the frame, and the frame to the battery. Now the car blows white smoke at idle. Anything over 2k or so it runs clean. I expect it'll go away as soon as I get new injectors. But the smoke is white and doesn't smell sweet. It smells like something else. I figure it should be pooring out black/brown smoke instead. Anyone have any ideas what this grounding job did to my leaky injectors?

Yeah, coolent stays at a constant level. No bubbles in the overflow tank. I know what burning coolent smells like. This isn't burning coolent. Its... something else. I don't think its oil control rings either because oil is staying on the mark too. I'm hoping replacing the injectors fixes it.

Doesn't sound like its related to and grounding you've done.
My 87 Tll started pumping out clouds of white smoke at idle, that would go away if I ran it around for 10 min (i.e. it would then idle with no smoke). Turned out to be an oil seal in the turbo leaking oil into the exhaust. I guess when it heated up, all the components would expand, and the leak would stop. Turbo rebuild cured the problem.

just a thought ..you said you had leaking injectors.;wonderin if it may be a little excess fuel the was pushed out ..would cause it to smoke wouldn't iy?..I recently picked up a 7 that was so flooded, the oil was up at least a half a quart..after I replaced every thing(plugs.wires.oil and filter) when it did start she smoked..I haven't driven it (only around the parkin lot) but checked the engine(good) but I get an "off" smell for awhile then it runs clean.so long story short...what do you think?..excess fuel from injecor leakage(in exhaust system)..wargoblin?

Thats what I'm hoping it is. But I'm a little concerned because I understood that unburnt fuel is dark colored. Plus I wasn't doing that till I put the grounds on. I'm just looking for some mental relief that there isn't anything else I have to spend money on.

Smoke from unburned fuel, in other words a very rich mixture, will tend to be blackish, but fuel mixed with oil will probably be somewhat lighter. Fix the injectors and see if that takes care of it.

Talking

Wow I feel thick headed. I forgot to mention I also was capping off some open hoses with nipples because the rats nest was removed on the car. However still had some explosed tubes. I also capped the lower oil filler neck tube. The upper one was still connected. So without one of them vented it was buliding extra oil pressure in the crankcase causing the smoke. I simply unplugged the upper oil filler neck hose and it stopped smoking. I have rotaryresurrection.com to thank for this one. On his S4 emissions removal page. HURRAY!

do you not know that rx7s inject oil into the mixture? that white smoke is oil... when you start it up it should smoke a little.. .and depending on how long you let the car sit between startups and other factors will make it smoke upon startup... and when romping on the throttle will smoke a little bit as it will inject more oil into the combusting mixture to pre-lube the apex seals
