Leaking Gas = Fire waiting to happen....

Hey guys. After some of my previous threads, I thought that my leak issue was only water/coolant leaking out of the UIM o-rings... Well, after changing the UIM to another one that I have (because I was too lazy to change the o-rings) I have come to notice that the leak has mostly dissapated, but now I still do have a gas leak... I guess I was leaking both gas and water and that's why it smelled like watered down gas. lol.

Anyway, I have replaced the o-rings on the primary injectors, yet it still leaks. I even tried taking injectors out of my other RX7 that I know are good, put them into the vert and they leak... It is so wierd. Then when I put the original leaking injectors into my GXL, they dont leak. Is it possible for it to be the rail that is damaged and not the injectors. I ask only b/c the rail is pretty solid and I cannot imagine it failing. I did do the pd mod to this car. Do you think it has anything to do with it? (I have done the pd mod to all of my other nonturbo RX7s and never experienced this.) Thanks.

everytime you handle with your injectors you should change the O-Rings and the lower and upper grommets!!!!! that stuff is all about 40bucks... but what are 40 bucks against a burned out 7en?

also check your Pulsation dampener! it's also a possible leak!!

The O-rings are understandable b/c the fail easily. The grommets I leave for inspection. Either way, neither of which are the issue b/c the dont leak on my other 7. The PD isnt an issue b/c I did the PD banjo bolt mod. I might have to just try swapping the rails and see what happens... Thanks for the suggestions

Yes, it's possible.
Crud builds up in the fitting where the fuel injectors plug into.
Go look at it if you want.
Sometimes this hinders proper sealing even if you use brand new o-rings.

Whats a good way to clean it? Can I soak it over night in a cleaner? Or can I just poke a stick up there and try and scrape stuff out... Thanks...

That's a good question.
I tried a piece or rolled up sandpaper, and I think I screwed up my fuel rail trying to get that crusty stuff out.
Now I cannot get my o-rings to seal.

Maybe a piece of stiff plastic or wood?

Yea, thats what I am afraid of. Anyway, I'm gonna try it anyway... if it gets any worse I guess I'll just change the rail. Thanks bro
