leaking caliper

ok, i did a search and i found this page in the archive: https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-gen-archive-72/writeup-cheapa%24%24-brake-repair-boot-spring-485757/

my rear caliper looks exactly like the 3rd picture on the page, but it has fluid leaking out from the tear!

will this tutorial be the solution to my leak??

sorry if this is a novice question.

thanks in advance

NO

The boot is just there to keep contaminents out, you need to replace the piston seals, in other words a full caliper rebuild.

Replace the caliper piston seals...dude its very easy..just buy a caliper rebuild kit. Its just a matter of popping out the piston with compressed air, clean out the inside and replace the seals.
