If he has power brakes, the fluid may be leaking out of the rear seal in the brake master cylinder and going into the power brake booster. (the thing behind the master cylinder.) So, fluid would disappear, but leave no mess anywhere. Does the car make a little bit of smoke when accelerating? That could be the fluid getting sucked out of the booster and into the engine. Remove the master cylinder, and if the inside of the booster is wet, get a new master and the problem should be solved.

Very vague, but, have him pump the pedal numerous times. Look for leaks at all calipers and brake lines. Look for any leak around the master cylinder also. If caliper piston seals are leaking, you'll need to look inside the caliper by removing pads.
How much fluid is being added? Fluid level will deminish with the wearing of the brake pads.

If there is a lot being added, as stated, check for leaks at wheels, or if no leaks found, check leakage at rear of master cylinder as stated by nopistons. It's got to be going some place!
