Leaking 60-1 turbo, what to go with now?
Well my Turbonetics 60-1 is burning oil and I want to replace it with something with a little better response and the possibility to make a little more power. The plan is to go standalone in the future but for now I will be sticking with my Rtek 2.1 with the 1000cc and 720cc injectors. The turbo was ptrim .81 on a HKS log mani.
The dyno sheet was on the stock ports. I am now on a streetport.

You slap a bigger turbo in there and you had better fork over for some bigger secondary fuel injectors and a better ECU than the Rtek 2.1.
That Rtek won't handle anything that varies over say 25% in difference (say 750/1000 is 25%) You are gonna run out of fuel up top if you go with a bigger turbo.

Not really looking to make more. Yes I would like to later down the road when I do go with a standalone and be able to boost past 14psi. Looking to make around the same but with a broader power band. Thinking maybe a pt6266, td61, gt35 or something along those lines.

considering that's the highest i have seen an Rtek do you are about out of room to breathe with that unit and it's adjustability within reason. putting something on with better response and more power you will obviously be limited to running less boost until you get a real standalone.
TD61 and 35R(ball bearing unit, don't bother with the standard units) are good choices. the 35R on low boost is enough to make anyone grin while pushing out 450whp@14psi with excellent response.
