It won't really cause a problem. The main difference is the heat range of the plug. The trailing plug is a colder plug, heat range 9 vs 7 for the leading

The wrong plug might foul a little more.

Clean them (or replace them) and put them in the correct spot and you are good to go.

it may be worn, could have been overlooked when the others were all replaced, skipped over mistakenly.

that or you have a problem in that chamber, high heat, coolant, lean or rich conditions all could affect how a plug wears.

Different plugs don't matter that much for a near standard car or standard car, when you're up to like 300rwhp, you have to be pretty careful. Only the wrong wires would be bad.

If you're worried, just replace all your plugs, if it's got a modded intake, you can pretty safely put in all 9s.

I have to pull my plugs and sand blast them and blow them out every 3-4 months... they are caked with this carbon crap...tan in color. but caked on.. I think its from running rich since i get like 12 miles a gallon..Maybe alittle better on the freeway...

I been through this befor..but ill ask agian.why not! Anyone know of a way to lean out the mixture WIth out buying a 200 dollar Fuel controll computer?? it just bogs down somtimes on starting out...Maybe a bad low end tps reading. it has power when i hit 3-4 grand. but i have a automatic ( dont say a word) ..and i cant pick an rpm before the car moves.. the car just starts from where the trany lets it.. starting off i feel like grandma..

Anyone with an Automatic rx7 i can test drive to see if they are all like that?

thanks all

A leading (7) plug in a trailing hole will tend to foul.
A trailing (9) plug in the leading hole will wear out quickly.

I use BUR7EQP platinums in the leading hole, and steel BUR9EQ in the trailing hole.
That combination will last 3 oil changes.
