OK I'm really getting fed up with my car. Its resting more than I drive it.

I thought that my starter was going out, so I had my stock one rebuilt. It barely started the day I put it back in. It took about five minutes. Then it started the rest of that day(with trouble though) I didn't drive it all weekend then on monday it wouldn't start. It wouldn't even turn over. It just didn't do anything. It started a weekafter that, but not until it let out a loud backfire first, then it started right up.

Next day it would not start again. I looked at the starter fuse and it was out, so I replaced it and went to start it, but it popped the fuse again. I got it to turn over but not start. And the fuse thing is really pissing me off.

What can I test, and/or replace. I want to drive my car again.

Check/replace the battery
plug wires
plugs
fuel filter
air cleaner
ground cables on the battery
then see what happens.

checking the grounds is a great idea. Other than that, I have a new battery, and all my fuel stuff is upgraded.

Any other suggestions

Sounds most likely that you have a short in your electrical system. You will need to hunt down any stipped wires/loose connectors, and as mentioned previously check the ground

I don't know where to begin looking for a short. How do I test for a short? Will I need a good old multimeter, or just a test light.

Hailers I know you got input on this.
