Lateral links in rear

Dumb question, but are the lateral links and sublink easy to replace? Will I need a pickle fork to break them free?

Just changed the control links and thought I'd replace the other stuff since its going on 18 years original.

Yes, you need a pickle fork to get them out.
You can just bang on them (from the threaded stud side) with a hammer, but that will most likely kill the ball joint.
The stud is necked down, just like your tie rod ends up front for the steering.

I was able to replace mine without without using a fork. A couple light taps with a piece of wood as a spacer and it popped right out.

Thanks guys. What about installing them?. Do they just tap in or will I need a special tool? If its like a tie-rod, I never installed one so sorry for the dumb question.

If hammering on such a thing always put a nut (not one that you're going to re-use) on the stud before hammering to protect it.

You just push it up into the hole then tighten the nut, it'll pull the stud up into the taper.
