last front cover swap thread...dropping bearing with engine on its flywheel?

Is it possible for the bearing to stick due to oil and still fall out of place when removing the pulley and front cover, even if the engines resting flat on its flywheel?
and how would I go about figuring out if it did prior to installation without an endplay guage?

Slim chance it fell.

The FSM in the ENGINE ASSY section has a measurment you can make to see if it fell. This method is dead *** accurate and the common sense way to see if the torrington bearing(s) have gotten out of place.

is there a chance that test wont work with the motor on its flywheel pushing the e-shaft forwards?

No, it'll work just fine with the engine resting on the flywheel.
