Larger turbo.

I was wondering when some of you guys go with a larger turbo do you stick with water and oil cooled or if you just go with oil cooled? If you guys just go with oil cooled how do you go about blocking off the coolant lines?

I would go with an oil and water cooled one, but that's just me.

I am just running an oil cooled turbo, just fine. But water and oil is better.

I don't think it is worth saving a few dollars to downgrade your car with a turbo that isn't water-cooled. The money saved would be spent on a turbo timer anyway.

^ Exactly.

I don't see the point of not buying a water cooled turbo. For a daily driver application it's the only way to go as it basically eliminates all the silliness and concern associated with having to idle down the car, oil "coaking", turbo timers, etc. Really, most quality aftermarket turbos (not eBay Chinachargers) already have water cooling ports. For example, the entire Garrett GT series. It really is only a minimal amount of labor to connect up the water cooling lines from the water pump housing (tap the back of it for 1/4" NPT) considering the benefit.
