LA Auto Show

i went to the show today also,
this is a little off topic but when i was on my way there...taking 101 south, when i passed hollywood, i saw this black FC drving passed by me,
so i followed and tailgated him so i can get a better look of the car,
it's a 86-88 turbo model, (i assume...from the hood scoop and tailights)
has a shiny new looking exhuast also, there was also a team fc3s sticker on the rear hatch window
anyways, my FC is mariah now, so i wasn't driving it,
i was the asian guy driving a champiange nissan,
i think that guy got pissed caz i was tailgating him, and he just took off like i am standing still couple times
well i was just trying to catch up with you and say hi, nice car etc......
anyways, the show wasn't that great, i like last yr better
damn carerra GT is gone this year, last yr when i saw that car in person in the porsche showroom...damn definitely worth my 8 bucks...
for this year, seeing the lancer evo rally car in person was really nice...much better than on TV

i just got back too. I went kind of late and didnt have enough time see all cars. First impression this year?..it sucks!..too many curved body cars. SUV and trucks totally ruled the place. When i went to the Mazda booth i was disappointed not to see the RX8. The new MINI COOPER totally is NICE!..I love that cute lil car. Preffer the S type though (turbo)

I got a pic of the motor of one with a turbo in it right as she opened the hood. There were so many damn people looking at them I couldn't get a shot off of the car without 30 people in front of it.

like how long...?
how long is 'long?' :-)
how do you go about reserving one? are there any requirements? (downpayment, etc.?)
the Lancer EVO VII was pretty sweet looking...
No RX-8 though...

What's this love for Mini? I saw it and wasn't impressed by the mini intercooler and turbo on the S. As a whole, I think it's a chicks car just like Bug. It's not that cheap and I would rather buy a Miata, even if it means I get another 2 seater.

Where was the rx8???....
In the big screen action film above their exhibit. Did you happen to notice that the action film was about 75% 1st-3rd Gen RX7's??
I made a point searching out EVERYONE that had a Mazda name badge and gave a hard time about the RX8 not being there. Latest is that it will be available Spring 2003. Excuse for the RX8 not being there..... it is getting its first showing in Detroit the week AFTER the LA Auto Show.
Anyway, I did hear from one of the rep's that there is serious talk about a Miata with a form of the new rx8 motor being available in a year or two as a maybe 1000 unit special edition production run. Now is THAT sweet or what? Sign me up!!

i knew the rx-8 wasn't going be there...
last yr i went to LA auto show, i got disappointed caz the Rx- evolve wasn't there...so i did not expected the Rx-8 to be there this yr,
one interesting happened on my way back to the parking lot.
we had to go on those free shuttle to get to the additional parking lot,
and then an old lady sat next to me, then we talked about the show and stuffs, she and her whole family came to see the show, and then she told me her grandson was very disappointed that the RX-8 wasn't there,
and then i turned my head back and look,
her grandson was like a 10 yrs old kid...
i was kinda shock and like..."wow.....damn little kid got some taste"

Tried to hook up with you guys, but couldn't get there until around 3PM, so missed you all.
Anyway, at least my '88 Vert was introduced to the So Cal Stable of cars. It was the black one on the end. I'll try and hook up at the next gathering.
When I mentioned to one of the reps at the Mazda exhibit that there was a whole line of Rex's parked on the roof, she was really interested. Wanted to try and get one of her co-workers to go and check out such a spectacle.
