Scariest ride ever!!

well today, i went out to get my headers installed. only problem was that my headers didn't connect directly to the factory cat so i had to go to another shop to get a straight pipe welded on. after leaving my car at the first shop, 3 hours later, i came to pick it up with headers installed. the exhaust basically went straight from engine to headers to nothingness at this point. the sound that was produced had to be the loudest and scariest sound in the world!! it was just deafening to say the least and shook the whole car....all this at idle....

now for the driving part...i had to drive 30 mins from san gabriel to glendale here in so cal. definitely was a funny/scary trip down there. i got stares from practically EVERYbody. there were these asian guys in this one reaalllly fixed up integra that just kept staring wondering what the hell was in my car. i just couldn't stop laughing. the sound was just unbearable though....ears went numb during the drive down there...i didn't dare take the car past 3k....the sound was just wayyy too loud.

once i got to the muffler shop though, they installed the straight pipe n everything's ok now. sound is muuuch quieter from that sound that was witnessed with an open exhaust system. the car sounds nice tho...has its own nice low rumble. well that's just my story....i don't recommend that anyone do this though....i'm reallly lucky that there weren't any cops around on the trip to the muffler shop.

Hey, are those the $1400 ones from Mazdatrix? I am thinking of getting those too, and I am wondering how loud they are (w/mufflers, of course)....and do you feel a lot of difference?

well i didn't get the whole exhaust system...just the headers connected to a straight pipe to the stock mufflers and it's still loud. but i like it...it feels a lot smoother and from 4k and up, your speed goes up quite a bit faster.
